From the NH Kid Executive Council: J.T.'s Ocean Clean Up
Save The Sea Turtles
My name is J.T. Pourby I’ve always loved sea turtles. I ran for N.H. Kid’s Governor and I was fortunate enough to be on the executive council this year representing Andover Elementary/Middle School (AEMS).
I figured out a great way to help save the sea turtle with my school and keep our oceans clean. The 5th grade class from AEMS has scheduled a field trip to the Wallis Sands beach on June 10th. The Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation is meeting us at the beach to help us clean the marine debris. This organization will provide all of the supplies including bags, gloves, and a data sheet that will keep track of how much trash we clean up.
If your school is interested in contacting this organization please visit the website below!

From the NH Kid Executive Council: Kasey's Kindness Week
I, Kasey Fitzgerald, have been working diligently since my campaign to follow through on my platform. Currently, I have created a Non-Bullying Bulletin Board at my school. This bulletin board is a collaborative board where students and teachers can take a speech bubble and write positive messages to anyone in our Pollard School community.
Also, during the month of February I have helped teachers create a Kindness Week. This week focuses on kindness to oneself and to others. During the Kindness Week, students can also participate in a spirit week. Below are the activities that students and teachers at Pollard School can take part in.
You’re Marvelous Monday
School Activity: Pick a classmate. Tell him/her why he/she is marvelous. Be ready to share at morning meeting.
★Home-School Connection: Dinnertime chat - have each person in your family go around and say why each family member is marvelous!
Together is Better Tuesday
School Activity: Strategy game day. Students and teachers will set aside time to play strategy-based games. Students will have the ability to work on their “soft skills” (interpersonal communication).
★Home-School Connection: Parents, please have your child bring in a strategy-based game (Guess Who, Connect 4, etc.) to school on this day. That night, have a family game night!
Let’s Stick with Kindness Wednesday
School Activity: Using the post-it notes provided by your teacher, write a positive sticky note and stick it somewhere random where a student or adult will find it.
★Home-School Connection: Write a thank you note for your mail person. Stick it in your mailbox.
Thoughtful Thursday
School Activity: GoNoodle activities that focus on mindfulness.
★Home-School Connection: Unplug from the use of computers, smartphones, and tablets for one night.
Fri-YAY! Spread Joy!
School Activity: School-wide read with a buddy time!
★Home-School Connection: Make dinner as a family or set aside time to read together.
February 17th-21st Spirit Week Activities
Monday: We are CRAZY for kindness - crazy hair day. Please no hair dye.
Tuesday: We are on TEAM kindness - your class will pick out a color for everyone to wear on this day. Bring in your favorite game to play in class.
Wednesday: We are WILD about kindness - dress like your favorite animal.
Thursday: “I like warm hugs!”- Olaf says wear your Disney gear.
Friday: I am COMFORTABLE being me - wear your pajamas. Please no slippers.
